A bronze re-cast of a composite creature typically having the head, forepart, and wings of an eagle and the body, hind legs, and tail of a lion. The ”Griffin” was a favourite decorative motif in the ancient middle eastern and mediterranean lands. It’s origination in the Levant 2nd milennium bc. Mounted on a black marble base, Signed: Laurens.
